CODECAL^® in post-liming after mechanical dewatering

Post-liming is currently used in urban and industrial sludge treatment in order to improve the texture and the storage properties, as well as to sanitise (hygienise) by pH and temperature increase.

Post-liming is currently done with quicklime in a paddle or plug mixer. The rapid reactivity of quicklime leads to an immediate heating and a heterogeneous viscosity increase in the reactor.

CODECAL^®, in substitution to quicklime, enables :

• to reduce lime consumption at equal efficiency,
• to reduce temperature increase in the transport devices between mixing and storage, and consequently avoid corresponding mechanical problems,
• to support eventual overdosage of lime, without blocking the transfer devices,
• to obtain a better homogeneity of the mixing.
